Meta tag order

(1/1)

Ed:
CSB publishes meta tags in this order: Title, Description, Keywords, Author even though the order of the Page Properties fields inside CSB (Title, Author, Keywords, Description) is not the same as the published pages. Furthermore, looking at the pages of some well known web sites that allow the source to be viewed, reveals all kinds of sorting.

Just from a quick scan of some sites, I found the following to be most used:

1. Title, Description, Keywords
2. Title, Keywords, Description

Google for example only has a Title. The use of Author was only occasionally found.

Does anyone know why the order of meta tags differs and what the best practice is for better rankings as it should be quite easy for the general webmaster to edit the order of their home pages to correct the order?

Samrc:
Does not make a difference.

Ed:
Thanks. I did not know but it makes sense if content is king.

Samrc:
YES...CONTENT IS KING!

bettsnirvana:
it does not make difference, what matters is the keywords that you put on meta tags.
