Google Ad Sense?

So, I am thinking about adding Google to my site so that I can generate a couple of dollars for selling their ads. >:D
However, I would like to place them on the right site of my home page.

Whats the best way to do this?

Is there someway tosection off the right side?

If I use a big table on the home page, I might have problems when It comes time to adding the ads.  It might push other text out.
