granny

(The afghan hanging on my recliner chair crocheted by my mother and grandmother 40 years ago is made of "granny squares".)

Yes.  My mom is a cool lady! No fear (except for spiders and lizards.)
Even if I was not related to her, I would gladly choose her as a good friend!
When I solo skydived a few times years ago, she hated that.
But immediately encouraged me to go hot air ballooning (which I did).
We have done so many things together that just makes me smile (swim with dolphins, travel, climb a small mountain, biplane ride...more....) and am blessed to have her in my life!

Sami and Tony, if you would like a copy of the DVD of my camel trip in the desert, send me your postal address by PM, and I will send you one. I will send it after I get back home from my current trip, around mid September.

Very Cool!

Thursday night my old computer got a nasty infection and I saw it happen! :ss-shocked:
  >:(  :banghead:  :repair:
I have dual monitors set up. On the primary monitor I had email open. On the secondary monitor, I had found an episode of the musical tv show I had not seen so I was streaming "GLEE" from a site I had not been to before.  About 20 minutes into the program, I started seeing command window prompts open on the primary window. In a matter of seconds, I had at LEAST 6 windows appear and drop their payload. In that few seconds, I watched my machine take hit after hit after hit. The first one took out my antivirus/firewall. The others were installing things.  I did a hard shut down of my computer and have spent about 16 total hours clearing the machine and get back to where I was.  Took several tools to get rid of the pieces of the yuck. The system is back to normal again!

in a while...crocodile!

I saw quite a few crocodiles on my trip up north. It is very hot up there, but you can't swim in the rivers or the sea, because the crocodiles are extremely dangerous!

dam

I have also seen some "caimanes" (plural of caimán, as they are called in Venezuela) when fishing in a dam - full of piranhas BTW - I don't know which family they are related to, if alligator or crocodiles.. I think alligators
They are very common in the Venezuela's inland lakes and rivers.

But having them in the sea... is too much!!

Explain to someone in a canoe or on water skis, or to a family that lost a dog or child to one of them the local gators that it is not as dangerous as a croc!  When it's mating season, they will come INSIDE homes looking for a hookup! VERY dangerous.  Personally, I respect both and don't want to be around either.

"When it's mating season".... that should explain what "hookup" is.   >:D >:D
Alligator on the prowl during mating season could mean "Sexual encounter of the scariest kind"
Gators go a bit nuts in mating season. They break normal patterns, show up in pools, back yards, screen rooms, garages, even come in open doors.  They become AGGRESSIVE!

Here in Florida reported on my local news:  "Woman Finds 8-Foot Alligator In Home's Kitchen"

Well guys, you fit in with the "real world" part of my life perfectly then!
Most of my friends are 10 - 26 years older than me.
I have more in common and my experiences match better with mature folks.  ;)  :D
Maybe because I did not grow up in USA.   :-\
One of my best buddies is 76 this year and you would think she is 45!  Her husband introduced us and we hit it off immediately and were inseparable for 15 years!  She moved about 2 years ago and we still talk on the phone and visit, just not as often.
Besides, with all my gray hair, I have gotten "senior discounts" for the last 5 years!   rofl
I never ask for them. And if asked if I qualify, I say NO. But if someone just gives it to me because of the hair color, then fine...  rofl
