"Most modern fiction describes werewolves (lycanthropes) as vulnerable to silver weapons and highly resistant to other injuries" - Wikipedia

In the fictions, they use to kill them with a silver bullet... :D

I wonder why Sami doesn't have a few minutes for the forum these days. I know she has a new job, and hope it is going well, but we would like to see her here occasionally, don't you think?

the word rosacea referring to a skin illness is exactly the same in Spanish and Italian, but is more widely used in Spanish when talking of something that has a "pinky" color.

Your idea is ok by me Tony. But we might have to wait a while for the Judge, so perhaps we can do a trial of the idea while we wait for her.

While we were on our boat a few weeks ago, we saw lots of whales migrating back to Antarctica. Some were spectacular, jumping fully out of the water. Amazing creatures.

I've never seen whales alive, may be because I lived in the Caribbean, but I did see a herd of orcas crossing up and down 100 meters in front of me, while fishing from the shore. That’s an extraordinary sight by those sites…

lunatic

From Wiki:

The term lunatic derives from the Latin lunaticus which originally referred mainly to epilepsy and "madness" as diseases caused by the Moon.[3] By the fourth and fifth centuries astrologers began to commonly use the term to refer to neurological and psychiatric diseases.[3] Philosophers such as Aristotle and Pliny the Elder argued that the full Moon induced insane individuals with bipolar disorder by providing light during nights which would otherwise have been dark, and affecting susceptible individuals through the well-known route of sleep deprivation.[4] Through at least 1700 it was also a common belief that the Moon influenced fevers, rheumatism, episodes of epilepsy and other diseases.[

It seems that lunatic is a very common word in other latin-derived languages. In Spanish and Italian is lunatico.

service

Maybe your ISP should take the "S" out of ISP. Seems they are an internet provider, but without service.

But I cannot complain about my ISP. The service is faultless. All I have to complain about is paying the fee every month!

economic

In recent years Australia has had a big problem with so-called "economic" refugees, each spending a lot of money for a dangerous trip to Australia from Indonesia in a leaky boat, pretending to be legitimate refugees with no money. These people illegally trying to jump the queue make it more difficult for legitimate refugees. Fortunately the new government has stopped it.

Mare Nostrum

(literally "mar nuestro" but better "nuestro mar"  [Latin for "Our Sea" was a Roman name for the Mediterranean Sea - Wiki])

Exactly the same thing is happening here, but, due to our closeness to Africa, we are more involved in this illegal human traffic. Italy has named this operation "Mare Nostrum" and is trying to involve the whole Europe to help managing this situation.
Thousands of "refugees" every week, specially in summer time.

Pacific

Our Mare Nostrum is the Pacific Ocean (We also have the Indian Ocean on the west coast, the Southern Ocean on the southern coast, and the Timor Sea to the north)

So I guess we are really confused about what is really Mare Nostrum for us!  :-\
