BTW, I'm connected to a 7 Mb/s line which is fast enough for me, but I could be on 100 Mb/s if I change provider...

does sound like Mary Poppins word.   :D

I pay for 15mbps, get up to 11mbps when it works well, and often have less than 2mbps connections.
I have replaced my modem often, called for support, they blame the "area", or in my home (NOPE).
The problem starts at my power pole outside my home and most of the time when they do come out to repair it is simple quick fix at the pole.  Once in a while the problem is down the road.
The problem has NEVER been in my home or with MY equipment yet they always start there when I call...

Many of them are on DSL not cable.  The DSL at BEST is far slower than cable.
And more expensive since I get bundled tv and internet.  TV comes in fine, no problems on same cable, but the internet is either great or a real problem.

I also have my ADSL bundled with the phone line, I had to install a signal "splitter", dont't you have to install a similar one to separte both signals (TV and Internet)? It is just a thought, I don't really know too much about.  :-[

I am on cable not adsl.  DSL is through phone lines, cable runs on other lines. It comes to house on coaxial cable from pole. Simple splitter branches into 4 coaxial black cables. This sends signal to 4 places in my home.  On one end, I put the cable modem (supplied by cable company). The other three go to TVs.  I bought nothing.  When I stop using their cable for Internet, I return the modem. I have traded the modem a couple times.  Will do it again this week... Can't stay connected to Internet for long. Had to go to my mothers for solid connection... Frustrating.

Hey, for sure you have heard of the dot com "bubble"! The dot com era was going like a frenzy in the period 1997-2001, then quite suddenly everything crashed in 2001. For example, Cisco's stock crashed 86%, and thousands of small dot com companies failed in a short time.

If you had said dot com > bubble I would have gotten it.  Yes.  The dot com bubble burst, valuations dropped, companies tanked.
But .com I thought you were talking about a specific site, or software, etc. and it did not make sense.
