index.html vs home.html
« on: September 14, 2007, 01:12:02 PM »
For the page file name I am entering home.html, but the site publishes the home page with index.html.  As a result my previously indexed site (on Google) won't pull up because the file name already indexed is "home.html". How can I get CSB5 to recognize that I want the word "home" not "index?"  Also (and I realize this is more of an HTML question) - can anyone tell me the difference between using .html or .htm (CSB default) for the end of a file name?  Thanks!

Welcome to the forum  :welsign:

Go into your publish > options > Host Setup > Modify
Change Default_Filename at the bottom to home.html

You may also want to click on the home page on the map and right click > properties
and select html as the extension for the home page.

htm has to do with older MS Windows and MSDOS operating systems
which could not handle file name extensions over three characters

You can use ether one.
