Did you hear about the refugee boat people who lost their lives when their boat crashed on the rocks last week, while trying to reach Australia? It was a terrible tragedy.

drama

Yes, I saw it in the news, the moments before and after the tragedy.
Same day, another drama, this time in Florida, http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/video/caught-tape-gunman-takes-school-board-hostage-florida-12400275

that's why it remained in my mind: Australia and Florida.  :verysad:

ribbons

we have Cirque du Soleil in town. one man "flies" on red ribbons
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YqF0tPFoYu8&feature=related
I have seen this show in person twice. Both times the man in the red ribbons flies so beautifully!
Would gladly see it again if I could.  The theater is intimate, you feel a part of the performance because things are happening above you, around you, and there is no space between the stage and the audience.  The first time he swooped out over the audience, he went above my head!  He was so beautiful, all warm muscles! Yet still SO calm, peaceful looking.  Made it look so natural, like everyone should be able to do it.  Angelic!  Breathtaking!

Different strokes for different folks!

Sorry Tony, I forgot that "away with the pixies" is mostly Aussie slang! It means something like daydreaming.
Example: She's not listening. She's in love and away with the pixies

May the world be less MEAN!

I will forever be greatful that I found a piece of software on my machine that took me to the Trellix Cafe (original T/CSB forum) for help.
Through that connection, I have had such lovely positive exchanges.

Happy New Year everyone.

thump!  thump!  thump!  thump!  thump!  ... so was my heart watching Dexter 5 ep. 10 !!!
Not recommended for heart weaker
I finished with season 5. It was the best!!

BTW,  Dexter Season 6 Becomes Official:

"According to Showtime’s Dark Passenger Blog, Showtime announced today that Dexter will be back for a sixth season! Season five has proven to be the highest rated season and as the popularity rises, the seasons continue. In fact, the ratings on November 28 were 43% higher than the September 26 premiere. Just in time for the conclusion of season 5, we are honored with the news that DexterSeason6.com will become entirely relevant as we continue to follow one of the most popular shows in America. Thanks for your continued support, and stay tuned for more news ..."

Sorry about that, as you could notice, I'm a Dexter fan... :-\

ache

I have been a Dexter fan til I watched that last episode in season 4 and first episode in season 5.  They are so brutal and shocking.
I cried at those episodes and felt so bad about the character that I am not sure I can watch rest of season 5, let alone 6.
What makes the show special is the idea that he tempers his "needs" with socially acceptable behavior.  Only killing people that "deserve" it. Does he go back to that behavior? Or does he just become a regular serial killer?  Should I watch more than the first episode of season 5?
