Blogging using Cutesite Builder
« on: May 11, 2008, 01:30:44 PM »
How does one go about setting a blog using our beloved CuteSite Builder?    ???

What inexpensive or free software do you recommend?

Any instructions you can provide will be greatly appreciated.   :clapping:

Thanks.

Try this blogger.com freebie.  It is OUTSIDE your website but you can make it suit.
You can point your site to it, or you can pull it in using a CONTAINER PAGE so your website header remains on top of the blog page.

Investmenttools.com (built in CSB4) has a blog using that free host:  http://www.investmenttools.blogspot.com/

Easy to work with, and the price is right.  You can cross link back and forth from blog to site, etc.

Hi, I am curious what unique features of a blog you wanted that you couldn't include by building a cute page, titling it blog and then updating it withing the cute software the same as you would a blog?

Here are two things I considred.. you wanted access from any computer

You wanted people to be able to comment on your blog

I did not have those needs and just built blog pages into a site with cute.

Dear SafariWoman,

I guess it is the interactive feature of a blog that I didn't think could be done in CSB5.

Are you suggesting that someone make a post through the soon to be discontinued comment box that I later permanently post?  (Of course, that comment box is limited to 999 characters.  In the past, many people keep writing even though I have told them it stops a 999 characters - and I have missed info.).

Thanks for asking!!

Ken

Hi - no I wasn't neccessarily thinking of that or anything else lol I just wondered what you were thinking of as needed for your blog. Some blogs don't have areas for comments from others .. I was only curious. I blog several ways one thing I wouldn't have is a blog that allowed comments that couldn't be apporved first unless it was built on a private site to start with. So sammy says you might pull up a blog built elsewhere in a container page.. that sounds good... hmmm that reminds me that I could even pull in a whole myspace page & I hadn't thought of that before. See one thing leads to another when I ask questions. lol

Good luck with that I hope you will let us see what you come up with.  :)
