It is also happening here and in South America, as far as I know more than 37 people were killed in Venezuela.

The Florida water table is dropping drastically.  No rain for so long.  Our ponds and retention lakes are drying up.
We are allowed to water lawns one day per week (assigned by area) and for only a limited period on that day.
When it finally does rain again, the ground will not absorb the water, it will just run right off!

Amazon has VIDEO ON DEMAND that allows you to rent or own tv shows or movies.
They have a holiday calendar here:  http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html//ref=bt_atcg_cta?ie=UTF8&docId=1000633091&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=1FCD0GR2RX71WRZDQ88W&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1282846362&pf_rd_i=16261631
25 days of special prices.  The special prices hold until Dec 24
Yesterday they listed DEXTER season 2 (which I have not seen) for $9.99 USD for the entire season (12 episodes!)
I had a coupon for a $5 credit on any Video on Demand purchase that I needed to use before it expired (have had it for a while). Really tickled that I got the whole season for $4.99!  And I can rewatch these anytime I want from any pc that has internet connection! Very cool.
Still have a couple other coupons to apply before year-end.

fascinating

I have Dexter 2.4 running in a small window beside this one...His thoughts are so fun to hear...
He is meeting his girlfriend's mother as I type this:  LOL
"I have always been good with parents.  The key is to simply think of them as Aliens from a distant universe.  You have fibers and threads unknown to us. Your ancient customs intrigue me. "  LOL

Have seen season 1 and 3 (thanks to free showtime/showtime on demand for a month).  I bought season 2 and am CONSIDERING whether or not I should spend $18.99 to get season 4... Not a wise decision these days but am SO tempted since I really like John Lithgow.
Season 5 will be offered several months from now...have to wait for that but at least I know where I can get it eventually.
Is season 5 GOOD?  (I am a bit jealous!)

SHOCKING!   :ss-shocked:

I have not read anything about the shows or reviews. Have been very careful to not know about story lines.
Season 3 was a pleasant surprise...didn't know Jimmy Smits would be in that season.
When I heard that John Lithgow was going to be in season 4 I got excited but would not allow myself to read any plots, story lines or reviews or to see any pictures.  I am patient and would rather not spoil anything by reading about it in advance. Makes the viewing of the episodes equal to watching them 1st run, at the same time as other people.

I don't like the opening credits though!  They overlap his morning breakfast with blood splatters making it look like he is a cannible. Misleading!  He's actually very moral in the way he uses his "dark passenger" to rid the world of bad people.

So...is season 5 is as good as season 4?  (you already said in another post that you liked it...)  I hope that neither 4 or 5 are like the Dexter BOOKS.  They start the same as first book, then Season 2 and 3 are totally different than the books. In the books, the kids have dark passengers and want Dexter to teach them... DO NOT CONFIRM OR DENY the story lines....

... I've just seen only episodes 1, 2 and 3.

I hate when they, at the end of an episode, show clips of the next... they almost tells you the entire story  >:( >:(
Sometimes, the star, or whoever, "dies" at the end of the episode and you see him "alive" on the clips of the next episode... come on!!  >:( :whip:

Ya. But sometimes it is is a flashback, or imagination.  Dexter has many of those. Someone that is dead speaks in a later episode.
I am beginning to wonder if Dexter is Harry's biological child not just adopted...
Season 2 was good. Good writing. Even though the program is about a serial killer, there really isn't as much blood or gore as many popular movies.

Don't remember that movie.  When I get better connection will check it out.

Tony, Amazon video on demand has HD versions but they cost so much!   :noshake:
Coupon made the regular cheap enough so I could get season 2.
Watched Season 4 on that site I sent you to. Season 4 ending/Season 5 ep1 are HORRIBLE!  May not watch anymore of it.

Silver Springs

In north Central Florida is a place called Silver Springs (near Ocala). They did lots of filming for Tarzan, Sea Hunt and other shows from 40's 50's.  The monkeys are wild in the trees in that area.  http://www.everytrail.com/view_trip.php?trip_id=143733

tony, I meant the story line turned really bad at end of season 4 and 1st episode of season 5.  I cried during 5.1 and hated the story!

desert

Lake Eyre is dry most of the time, and surrounded by desert. But due to lots of rain in Australia lately, Lake Eyre now has water in it for the first time in more than 10 years. I am hoping it will still have water in April. We are starting our next 4WD trip then, and will pass by Lake Eyre. We are planning to be away on that trip for between 3 and 6 months.

Jane Eyre is a famous and influential novel by English writer Charlotte Brontë. It was published in London, England in 1847.

robes

The first thing that came to mind, was the graduation hat, called in Spanish "birrete", name used to describe only this funny-squared hat (the graduation robe is called "toga"), so I looked up for a translation without finding a specific word in English for this kind of special hats... how come?  :-\  Is there a name for these hats that I couldn't find?

corn

The "pendant" at the summit of a stalk of corn, and similar plants, is often referred to as the tassel.

We also call that hat a "mortar board". Not a very elegant name for the hat used on such an auspicious occasion!
