In my head, I have a lovely tone. But recordings of my voice confirm that I sound too high pitch.

I tell you what - some of the ones there are pretty sketchy and don't have any real information anyone would want to hear either. Sooooo I souldn't let that stop me. Can't you go for the Talulah Bankhead impersonation?
