Thanks for the input!!
On this one, I agree with Rick and Tony: I would vote NO for acronyms and abbreviations
My ruling based on the original post by Jim which was in all caps:
NO PROPER NOUNS AND NO ACRONYMS ALLOWED!Though he did not address abbreviations, I truly think they were not part of the Jim's original intent.
The object is to change one letter ONLY, and make a new word. I don't really think that abbreviations fit the category properly so I will add the clarification to the original post.
We have let proper nouns, acronyms and abbreviations sneak in every now and then.... but they really don't belong.
We have INDEED had some great words lately. Very challenging.
Even the already discussed and sanctioned by THE JUDGE, which is to convert words to plural or vice versa, doesn't make sense to me.Rick is right.....the judge established this one already.
S addition/subtraction is fully acceptable and falls within the original rule posted by Jim:
You can drop a letter or add a letter, but only change one thing.Of course there is always another option Tony.
I could create and exception to that rule to fit your needs.
Everyone EXCEPT Tony is allowed to use the added/removed S to change the word. Your choice...
Lets take the word back to
